Kicking Horse Mountain Resort in Golden, British Columbia, played host to the third stop of the 2025 Freeride World Tour. Held on the renowned Ozone face, riders faced a short yet technical big mountain face loaded with features, providing the perfect stage for this high-caliber freeride skiing competition.


The Weather could not have been better. It was a cold day at around -15 but the skies were clear and sunny. It had snowed about five days before the competition, giving the snow just the right amount of time to settle. When asking Marcus Gogen what he thought of the conditions he said, “We have about 20 cm on top of a firm layer. I think it should be pretty good for just about anything you want to do out there.”



Men’s Ski Results
The Ski Men’s field was rife with jaw-dropping moments. New Zealander Ben Richards earned third place, blending technical prowess with creativity, highlighted by a pristine 360 and a massive front flip. Spain’s Abel Moga took second, executing a front flip, back flip, and a significant cliff drop at high speed. Canadian Marcus Goguen dominated the field, thrilling the home crowd with a back flip followed by a cork 720 blunt on consecutive features, seamlessly integrating style and aggression into his winning run.





Woman’s Ski Results
The Ski Women’s category witnessed a significant shakeup. German rookie Lena Köhler secured third place with a clean run, tackling two massive cliffs and showcasing classic big mountain skiing. Swiss newcomer Jenna Keller claimed second by selecting a unique line, navigating fresh tracks into an untouched double, and maintaining impressive speed throughout. American veteran Molly Armanino emerged victorious, delivering an aggressive and stylish performance that resonated with both judges and spectators.





Golden, BC, once again proved why it’s a premier destination for freeride skiing and snowboarding. The breathtaking backdrop of the Purcell Mountains, the steep, feature-rich terrain of Kicking Horse, and the electric atmosphere of the Freeride World Tour all combined to showcase the very best of big-mountain riding.
