The World Ski and Snowboard Festival (WSSF) is thrilled to announce an exciting new partnership with The Grind, one of Canada’s premier street-style competitions, taking place in Whistler this April. As the grand finale of its cross-Canada tour, The Grind will transform the base of Whistler Blackcomb into an electrifying showcase of world-class talent from Thursday, April 10 to Saturday, April 12, 2025. The event is run by Shred The North, the event arm of Canada Snowboard.

The Grind Welcomes Skiers
Known for its innovation and competitive edge, The Grind has historically been a snowboard-only rail jam. However, as part of its inclusion in WSSF, the event will expand to feature both skiers and snowboarders, reflecting the festival’s commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive competition. With a shared $50,000 prize pool, equally distributed across genders, this collaboration further underscores WSSF and Canada Snowboard’s dedication to equity in sport.

In addition to the main event, The Grind will kick off on April 10 with a Wild Card Qualifier, offering one lucky skier and one snowboarder the opportunity to secure their place in the finals. Spectators can expect to witness jaw-dropping tricks, fierce battles for the podium, and an electric atmosphere as some of the world’s most talented athletes throw down in Whistler. Fans can also tune in to the live broadcast, although there’s nothing quite like experiencing the event firsthand.
