Circle of Madness, a film by Christoph Thoresen, follows Markus Eder (Ski) and Victor de Le Rue (Snowboard) as they return to the legendary spine walls of Haines, Alaska, to explore unknown territory in sport—and friendship. The movie isn’t just about skiing; it’s about pushing the limits of what’s possible on snow while navigating the intense bond between two of the best in their sport.

The Skiing? Insane.

We’ve seen a lot of ski films over the years, but Circle of Madness is a whole different level. Forget slow motion powder clips, Markus Eder skis the steepest and scariest lines Alaska has to offer, and he makes it look easy, snagging the IF3 award for Standout Male Skier of the Year for his efforts.

The Production

the filming, planning, and editing are all spot on. Every shot is as intense as the riding, and you really feel the danger and excitement with each turn and jump. This movie is a perfect storm of insane skiing and incredible filmmaking.
