Revelstoke Mountain Resort has just hosted the first Freeride World qualifier event of the 2022 season and the event went off with out a hitch. Mostly sunny skies and no wind were much appreciated by all 80 competitors. The snow conditions were packed powder as no new snow had fallen for a few days prior to the event. Despite this fact the men and women were throwing down! Lines were shredded, spins were spun and grabs were grabbed all day long.
Revelstoke mountain resort is the prefect venue for a free ride event like this. It has tons of steep and technical terrain and a whopping average annual snowfall of around 12 meters! That’s almost 40 feet! So far this season Revelstoke has received 748cm! They are on pace to have the snowiest year in recent history! It’s been a great year to ski at Revelstoke Mountain Resort!!! https://www.revelstokemountainresort.com/conditions/historical-snowfall

How To make it to the Freeride World Tour
So what is the point of all these events you may ask? Earn the points you need to make it to the big show! The Freeride World Tour.
“Freeriding is a sport that has experienced tremendous growth during the last few years and is supported by a “pyramid” of development programs. Under the leadership of the Freeride World Tour, the Freeride World Qualifier and the Freeride Junior Tour are designed to support grassroots growth in the sport. In addition, the FWT Club is implemented in cooperation with ski schools throughout Europe.”
