The World Ski and Snowboard Festival (WSSF) is thrilled to announce the return of its beloved multimedia programming for the 2024 edition, featuring the 72-Hour Filmmaker Showdown, Sea to Sky Photo Challenge, and Intersection. In an exciting development for 2024, applications are now being accepted for all three multimedia events.

72 HOUR FILMMAKER SHOWDOWN

The 72 Hour Filmmaker Showdown is a captivating competition challenging teams to shoot, edit, and produce a 3-5 minute short film within an intense 72-hour timeframe. No need for big budgets or exotic locations – Let your creativity shine within 100 km of Whistler, using any recording device of your choice. Open to all aspiring filmmakers, this event demands grassroots grit, originality, imagination, and exceptional storytelling. The top films will premiere at the 72 Hour Filmmaker Showdown, vying for a first-place prize of $5,000 and the coveted People’s Choice award. Applications are now open until a week before the filming window, from March 29 to April 1, 2024

SEA TO SKY PHOTO CHALLENGE

The Sea to Sky Photo Challenge adds a grassroots twist to the traditional Pro Photographer Showdown. For 2024, talented photographers from across the Pacific Northwest are invited to apply. Four photographers will be hand-selected by the judges, while the remaining applicants will compete for one Wild-Card slot through fan voting. The five finalists will showcase their portfolios, capturing sport, culture, and the human spirit before a live audience, judged by an esteemed panel of award-winning commercial and editorial photographers. The Best In Show photographer will claim a $3,000 cash prize.
