“I don’t remember an opening this good.” – Abby Cooper
Needless to say, conditions were all time and Editor Abby had a time and a half about it. Pushing into treed runs for fresh powder and snagging the first line down Pencil Chute on the opening weekend of Whistler Blackcomb is unheard of. Powder, trees, and gnarly tight rocky lines that are ALL IN?! This is a January dream let alone a December reality – guess we need a pinch because it’s real. What an opener!
ABBY’S TAKE ON WHISTLER BLACKCOMB’S OPENING WEEKEND
“Seeing friends in our natural element once again was soul charging. The COVID protocols made sense, were easy to follow and the lines were nonexistent past 9 am. This reservation system might be a tad annoying on the digital side, but once you’re on the mountain it’s a dream come true. Overall I’d say Whistler Blackcomb is in incredible shape for both snow coverage and COVID safety. So happy it’s open for the season. Congrats on a strong opening Whistler Blackcomb!” – Abby Cooper
